Before Arizona State University dramatically improved its academic standing people joked about it being a school of leisure, calling it Tempe Country Club, or the “Spa on the Salt.”
Now, students can get serious about leisurely pursuits through ASU’s certification program in spa management, the only certificate program of its kind at an American university, a school spokesman says.
